Sexual Assault Advocates WANTED
Day, Evening and Weekend Positions Available!
Work from home, phones provided for most positions!
Crisis Line Coverage Advocate Medical Advocate

(Can include one or all areas listed)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Volunteers are recommended to be at least 18 years of age, male or female; must have good listening and communication skills; must be sensitive to other’s feelings and be concerned about ending sexual violence; must have good transportation and working phone; and they must submit to a background check.
ADVOCATE TRAINING:
Advocate instruction consists of 40 hours of training provided at no charge to you. Training sessions may include reading training manual, other material; listening to speakers, watching video and listening to current advocates speak about their experiences; and going to educational presentations. You will learn the history of sexual violence, statistics, community resources, sexual contact laws, and much more! Training times are flexible depending on schedule of trainees.
ADVOCATE MINIMUM COMMITMENT: WE ASK FOR A ONE YEAR COMMITMENT
Your schedule can be as flexible as you and the coordinator agree upon. If you want to help others, we can work together to utilize your talents.
SELECTION:
ALL potential volunteers must submit an application; go through at least one interview, a criminal/background check, and a reference check.

Board members are an important part of the program. The Board should reflect the people we serve. The Board meets monthly.
